In her 18th year of work in a busy law office, Janet's Joy founder, Janet Flaming gave her "creative side" a break. She set aside one day a week to explore jewelry and beading design and not long after, her hobby became a growing business.
"I've always found it therapeutic to work with my hands" says Janet. "Whether that's sewing, decorating, gardening or gift wrapping, there's something thrilling to me about bringing a project to life."
Janet's creativity, love of color and attention to detail are evident in each design she creates for Janet's Joy. Her work is done with joy and firmly rooted in relationship, family relationships, school loyalties, friendships and a deep love of God. "Whether someone chooses one of my pieces for themselves or as a gift for a friend or a family member, I want them to feel that it's something special - - - and that there's a story behind it," she says.
Janet's current collections featured in her online store include her Believers Collection and her Joy at Home Collection. Other collections she has created include Rah-Rah-Ya-Ya in which she has sold school and university themed jewelry, including a collection sold from the MSC Bookstore on the Texas A&M campus, Mother & Mimi which features jewelry collections for newborns to grandmothers, k9 & kitty and heart 2 heart . . . but her favorite collection is always the one she's just about to create.
